BMS Project Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven BMS Project Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Copenhagen. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Building Management System (BMS) projects from design through commissioning, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
This role involves close collaboration with clients, subcontractors, project managers, and commissioning teams across commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, and mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and deliver BMS / Building Automation projects.
- Produce control system architecture, panel designs, points schedules, and technical documentation.
- Develop and modify BMS software, controller strategies, and graphical user interfaces.
- Manage project execution from initial design through installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Coordinate with electrical contractors, HVAC contractors, and third-party vendors.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical support to clients and stakeholders.
- Carry out system testing, commissioning, and performance verification.
- Ensure all systems comply with project specifications, Danish regulations, and industry standards.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues during project delivery.
- Prepare project reports, commissioning documentation, and O&M manuals.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and cost control where required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in BMS / Building Automation project engineering.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control philosophies.
- Experience with BMS platforms such as:
- Siemens
- Trend
- Honeywell
- Schneider Electric
- Johnson Controls
- Tridium / Niagara
- Knowledge of communication protocols including BACnet, Modbus, and KNX.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Experience in software engineering, commissioning, and system integration.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
- Good understanding of networking and IP-based building systems.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Fluent English required; Danish language skills are advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Building Services, or related discipline.
- Experience delivering projects in pharmaceutical, commercial, life sciences, or data centre environments.
- Knowledge of energy optimisation and smart building technologies.
- PMP or project management certification is beneficial but not essential.
