We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Lead to join a major data centre project in Gävle, Sweden on a 6-month contract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commissioning professional with a strong background in mission-critical environments to take a lead role on a fast-paced, high-profile project.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all mechanical commissioning activities across the project.
- Coordinate commissioning engineers, specialist vendors, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
- Review and approve commissioning plans, procedures, method statements, and test documentation.
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of commissioning activities in line with project milestones.
- Oversee commissioning of critical mechanical systems including:
- Chilled water systems
- Cooling plant and CRAH/CRAC units
- HVAC systems
- Pumping systems
- Heat rejection equipment
- Water treatment systems
- Fuel systems and associated mechanical infrastructure
- Drive issue resolution, progress tracking, and commissioning readiness reviews.
- Support integrated systems testing (IST), performance testing, and final project handover.
- Provide regular reporting and updates to project leadership teams.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Lead on data centre or other mission-critical projects.
- Strong technical expertise across critical mechanical and HVAC infrastructure.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams and specialist vendors.
- Thorough understanding of commissioning processes, testing protocols, and project delivery requirements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Eligible to work within the EU.
Desirable Experience
- Previous hyperscale or large-scale data centre project experience.
- Experience working within the Nordic region.
- Familiarity with Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning activities and integrated systems testing.
- Experience commissioning complex chilled water and cooling systems within mission-critical facilities.
