Commercial Lead – Data Centres at Clear. in London Area, United Kingdom (On-site)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all commercial aspects of major data centre construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
• Manage NEC, JCT and bespoke construction contracts.
• Oversee procurement, subcontract management and commercial risk.
• Prepare, negotiate and agree variations, valuations, claims and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, forecasts and profitability.
• Support bid submissions and commercial tender activities.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors and project teams.
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Produce accurate commercial reports and cost forecasts for senior management.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures and commercial governance.
• Mentor and support junior commercial professionals where required.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commercial Lead, Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the data centre construction sector.
• Previous experience working for a subcontractor (Mechanical, Electrical, CSA or Specialist Contractor) delivering data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Experience managing projects valued from £20m+.
• Excellent commercial negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong financial and contractual awareness.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline (preferred).
• Must have previous subcontractor experience within the data centre construction industry.
• Must have the legal right to work in the UK.
