About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Estimator with proven experience estimating large-scale Data Center and Mission Critical projects to join a growing General Contractor in Houston, Texas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator who wants to work on complex, high-value data center projects and play a key role throughout the preconstruction and estimating process.
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead estimating activities for large-scale data center and mission-critical projects.
- Develop detailed conceptual, schematic and final estimates.
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project documentation.
- Develop accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Solicit, evaluate and level subcontractor and vendor bids.
- Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and opportunities.
- Work closely with preconstruction, project management, design and operations teams.
- Prepare detailed bid packages and subcontractor scopes.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing.
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving opportunities.
- Support project budgeting, forecasting and procurement strategies.
- Participate in client and design team meetings throughout the preconstruction process.
- Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and delivered within required deadlines.
Requirements
- 3+ years of estimating experience specifically within the Data Center / Mission Critical sector.
- Previous experience working for a General Contractor is required.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction and subcontractor scopes.
- Experience estimating large-scale, complex projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong understanding of construction costs, labor, materials and subcontractor pricing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Proficiency with relevant estimating and construction software.
Location
Houston, Texas
Candidates currently outside Houston will be considered, provided they are willing to relocate to Houston.
