Design Director
Singapore - Must Relocate
Fantastic opportunity for a Design Director to help continue the expansion of an exciting Data Center developer in Singapore. This role serves as the technical backbone of the sales organization, ensuring alignment between customer business needs and the company’s technology capabilities and solution portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Engage closely with clients to understand both business and technical requirements, translating them into clear and actionable technical specifications.
- Support sales initiatives through technical presentations, proposal development, RFP/RFI responses, and cost estimation activities.
- Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation and post-deployment support.
- Collaborate with vendors, OEMs, and technology partners to validate designs, develop Bills of Materials (BOM), and prepare associated cost estimates.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Partner with the sales team to support deal closure and drive pipeline growth.
- Lead site due diligence activities with clients to ensure requirements are accurately assessed and addressed.
- Support sales teams in positioning solutions competitively while emphasizing customer value.
- Contribute to pricing strategy, cost optimization, and evaluation of solution trade-offs.
- Participate in customer meetings, site visits, and proof-of-concept engagements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex technical solutions within the data center or technology industry.
- 5–12 years of experience in pre-sales or solution engineering roles.
- Mandatory experience in the data center sector, particularly colocation and hyperscale environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and client-facing communication skills.
- Solid commercial and business acumen.
- Prior management experience preferred.
