Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager – Mechanical to lead and deliver mechanical engineering packages for mission-critical infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, chilled water systems, precision cooling equipment, and mechanical controls, along with proven experience managing complex projects from design through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the mechanical scope of work, including HVAC, chilled water systems, piping, ventilation, and building management system (BMS) interfaces.
- Manage internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure successful project delivery on schedule, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Review mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Monitor contractor performance, conduct site inspections, and oversee installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure quality control, health and safety compliance, and adherence to applicable engineering standards and best practices.
- Manage project budgets, procurement activities, cost tracking, and change management processes.
- Coordinate with electrical, civil, and controls teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, progress reports, and punch lists.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing mechanical engineering projects, including experience on mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including chilled water systems, direct expansion (DX) cooling, economizers, and precision cooling equipment.
- Familiarity with relevant local and international engineering codes and standards.
- Proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work on-site and travel as required.
- Experience working in fast-paced, international project environments.
- Professional proficiency in English; additional languages are advantageous.
