We are working with a leading international general contractor delivering some of the region's most significant data centre projects. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of hyperscale and mission-critical developments, they are looking to appoint an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of major data centre projects across the UAE.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-value projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of large-scale hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects from pre-construction through to handover.
- Provide strategic leadership to multidisciplinary project teams, including Construction Managers, Project Managers and package leads.
- Take full responsibility for project performance, programme, commercial outcomes, quality and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Oversee project planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while implementing effective recovery strategies where required.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards across the project.
- Lead regular client meetings, executive reporting and progress reviews.
- Support contract administration, change management and commercial negotiations alongside the commercial team.
- Drive collaboration across CSA, MEP, commissioning and commercial functions to achieve successful project delivery.
- Mentor and develop project teams while promoting a high-performance culture.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Project Director or Senior Project Manager delivering large-scale mission-critical or hyperscale data centre projects.
- Previous experience working for a Tier 1 or leading international General Contractor.
- Strong understanding of CSA, MEP and integrated project delivery.
- Experience managing projects valued in excess of USD $200M.
- Strong commercial, contractual and programme management capability.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working within Design & Build contracting environments.
- Ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams across all phases of construction.
- Willingness to relocate to or be based in Dubai.
Desirable Experience
- Experience delivering projects for hyperscale clients such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Meta or Oracle.
- International project delivery experience across the Middle East, Europe or Asia-Pacific.
- Experience leading fast-track mission-critical construction programmes.
- Knowledge of commissioning processes and operational readiness for data centres.
