Reporting to the Project Director, the Commissioning Manager will lead and coordinate all commissioning activities across hyperscale data center projects, ensuring critical systems are tested, validated, and handed over in line with project specifications and industry best practices.
You will be responsible for managing the commissioning process from pre-commissioning through to client handover, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and end clients to ensure all mechanical, electrical, and integrated systems achieve operational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate Level 1-6 commissioning activities across hyperscale data center projects.
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, schedules, procedures, and documentation.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives throughout the commissioning lifecycle.
- Manage testing, inspection, and commissioning activities for mission-critical MEP systems.
- Review commissioning documentation, method statements, and test procedures.
- Witness and validate system testing, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Identify commissioning risks, issues, and deficiencies, implementing corrective actions where required.
- Ensure all commissioning milestones are achieved in line with project programmes.
- Maintain accurate commissioning records, reports, and handover documentation.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence throughout all commissioning activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience commissioning hyperscale or mission-critical data center projects.
- Strong MEP background with either a mechanical or electrical bias.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Level 1-6 commissioning processes.
- Experience working for a General Contractor, Commissioning Consultancy, or specialist mission-critical contractor.
- Minimum of 3 years' data center commissioning experience.
- Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, and integrated systems validation.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a fast-paced project environment.
- Willingness to relocate if required.
