Project Planner – Hyperscale Data Centre

Location : Finland, Helsinki

Salary: Up to €80k + rotation package

Job Description

A leading international engineering contractor delivering complex mission-critical projects across Europe is looking to appoint a Project Planner to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Finland.

Operating across the data centre, pharmaceutical, energy, and high-tech industrial sectors, this contractor has built a strong reputation for delivering large-scale technically challenging projects for some of the world’s most recognisable clients. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work across Europe, they are looking to strengthen their planning team on a flagship hyperscale data centre development.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reviewing project schedules and controls procedures. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, with a focus on proactive planning, risk management, and performance tracking to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and review detailed master construction programmes and project controls procedures for live projects.
  • Prepare and present progress reviews and reports to senior management.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to review project progress, identify risks, and support proactive problem-solving.
  • Establish and manage project schedule resource requirements across all phases — pre-construction, construction, and commissioning.
  • Create and maintain progress reporting tools to monitor the achievement of project goals and milestones.
  • Provide performance updates and variance reports, identifying corrective actions where required.
  • Represent the Planning function in client and subcontractor meetings, ensuring clear communication of schedule status and planning issues.
  • Support account management and business development by building and maintaining long-term client relationships.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and assist colleagues on other projects as needed.
  • Ensure project planning practices align with company standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2+ years’ relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably within a main contracting environment.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects, ideally within the data centre or high-tech industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and planning processes.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject; experience with BIM / digital construction tools and workflows is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking skills, with a sound understanding of programming techniques and typical production rates.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex planning information clearly.
  • Capable of working to defined, and often challenging, timescales.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual and project management principles.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work with a Market Leader in the Data centre Industry
  • Supportive career development
  • Competitive salary package
  • Collaborative team environment
  • Pipeline of project growth
