Looking for a Sr VP/VP Level Engineering professional to oversee and guide the design and implementation of all data center related engineering aspects. The positioning requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic planning, and leadership skills to ensure project performance, reliability and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, construction, expansion, and operation of Tier IV data center facilities.
- Establish and maintain standards for electrical, mechanical, cooling, network, security, and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Develop long-term capacity planning, growth strategies, and scalable engineering roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership for data center engineering teams, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and standards.
- Oversee the delivery of projects, working closely with consultants, contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met.
- Drive reliability, availability, efficiency, and sustainability initiatives across all facilities.
- Manage critical infrastructure including UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, fire suppression, DC power, and cooling systems.
- Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier IV requirements, ISO standards, LEED principles, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Lead risk management, emergency preparedness, quality assurance, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies, including liquid cooling and advanced containment solutions.
- Develop and manage engineering budgets, resources, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Partner with operations, IT, business units, vendors, and senior leadership to align infrastructure strategy with business objectives.
- Mentor managers and engineering staff, fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Tier IV data center design, construction, and operations.
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS, PDU, switchgear, HVAC, AHUs, generators, and fire protection systems.
- Working knowledge of engineering drawings, specifications, and mission-critical infrastructure standards.
- Deep knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier IV certification requirements and data center compliance frameworks.
- Experience with hot/cold aisle containment, liquid cooling technologies, and sustainable data center design.
