About the Role
The Concept Development team turns vision into buildable reality — working with customers at concept stage to define how their data centres will be powered, cooled, and delivered, faster and at scale. By integrating master planning, offsite manufacturing, cost modelling, BIM, and commissioning strategy from the outset, we remove uncertainty and accelerate delivery.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an ICT/Telecoms Engineering Lead to develop, design, and govern the ICT/telecoms platform underpinning our global data centre delivery strategy. As the technical authority for structured cabling and network infrastructure, you'll lead the development of standardised ICT architectures, connectivity topologies, and reference designs — covering meet-me rooms, telecom entry/riser routes, structured cabling, fibre backbones, and network monitoring systems.
You'll provide technical leadership across concept development, project pursuits, modularisation, commissioning, and platform innovation, ensuring ICT solutions are scalable, resilient, and repeatable.
What You'll Be Doing
- Platform Development: Lead design delivery, workshops, and design reviews; develop standardised ICT/telecoms architectures and connectivity topologies (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1) for hyperscale, AI, enterprise, and colocation data centres.
- Concept Engineering: Lead ICT input on feasibility studies, customer engagements, and project pursuits; develop connectivity and capacity models to support master planning and AI/high-density workload growth.
- Modularisation & Delivery: Design ICT/telecoms solutions optimised for prefabrication and industrialised delivery (pre-terminated cabling systems, modular meet-me room assemblies, containerised network infrastructure), driving DfMA adoption.
- Technical Assurance: Act as the ICT/telecoms authority for complex engineering challenges, supporting design reviews, root cause investigations, and commissioning/reliability programmes.
- Standards & Innovation: Own ICT/telecoms design standards and specifications; champion innovation in network resilience, fibre technologies, and digitalisation to support rising connectivity demands and AI infrastructure requirements.
What We're Looking For
- SME-level ICT/telecoms engineering knowledge across structured cabling, fibre backbones, meet-me room design, and carrier/telecom entry infrastructure
- Experience with network and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet) and integration with BMS/EPMS/monitoring systems
- Experience with control/monitoring systems (EPMS/SCADA/network management platforms), commissioning, and testing compliance
- 5–10 years' relevant experience, with a higher degree in ICT, Telecommunications, or Electronic Engineering; Chartered status preferred
- Proven track record leading concept engineering, feasibility studies, and customer engagements in hyperscale/AI data centres
- Experience with modularisation, DfMA, and operational readiness
- Proficiency in relevant network design/modelling tools, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Excel
