Senior Estimator – Data Centers Location: Houston, Texas Compensation: $210,000–$260,000 base salary + 15% bonus My client, an established general contractor delivering major mission-critical projects across the United States, is looking for a Senior Estimator with prior data center construction experience to join its Houston team. This individual will lead preconstruction and estimating activities for large-scale hyperscale and colocation data center developments valued between $200M and $600M. Responsibilities • Lead conceptual, schematic design, design development and final construction estimates • Develop detailed estimates for hyperscale and colocation data center projects • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare comprehensive cost plans • Review drawings, specifications and contract documents for scope gaps and risks • Manage subcontractor and supplier outreach, bid packages and proposal evaluations • Complete bid leveling and support subcontractor selection • Partner with operations, design, scheduling and procurement teams • Lead value engineering and constructability reviews • Maintain historical cost data and current market pricing • Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and cost-saving opportunities • Present estimates and commercial recommendations to leadership and clients • Support project handover from preconstruction into construction Requirements • Previous estimating or preconstruction experience on data center projects • Experience with hyperscale, colocation or other mission-critical facilities • Strong understanding of large-scale construction and MEP systems • Experience estimating projects valued at $200M or more • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documents • Experience with estimating and take-off software • Strong commercial, analytical and communication skills • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline preferred This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing mission-critical construction team delivering complex data center projects throughout the United States.
