Lead Mechanical Engineer – AI / Hyperscale Data Centers
I’m partnering with a rapidly scaling AI infrastructure company that is building next-generation hyperscale data center campuses across the US.
We’re looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to define and lead the mechanical cooling strategy for some of the largest AI compute infrastructure projects in the industry.
Locations: TX | NY | CA| USA
Role: Full-time
Compensation: $300K–$350K base + equity (DOE)
Travel: ~20–30%
This is an owner/developer-side role where you’ll have the opportunity to shape mechanical systems from chip-to-chiller — supporting high-density AI/HPC deployments at unprecedented scale.
Key focus areas:
- Hyperscale / AI data center cooling strategy
- Chilled water plants, heat rejection, and thermal management
- Direct liquid cooling & high-density GPU environments
- Mechanical standards, Basis of Design, and master specifications
- Modular / prefabricated mechanical systems
- Leading design delivery across multiple sites
- Managing consultants, vendors, and engineering teams
Ideal background:
- 10+ years mechanical engineering experience in data centers or mission-critical environments
- Strong hyperscale / HPC cooling experience
- Experience with MEP design delivery and owner-side engineering
- Knowledge of ASHRAE TC 9.9, liquid cooling, and critical infrastructure standards
- Experience leading teams and driving technical strategy
