Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Center Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning activities across large-scale data centre projects. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and managing commissioning activities for critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, ensuring safe, reliable, and on-schedule facility turnover.
The Commissioning Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for client stakeholders, commissioning agents, contractors, and internal project teams, and will oversee all aspects of commissioning delivery from planning through final handover.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end commissioning activities for data centre facilities, including planning, execution, documentation, and reporting
- Develop and manage commissioning plans, test scripts, procedures, and integrated commissioning schedules
- Oversee Functional Testing (FT), Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and system turnover/handover to operations
- Coordinate and manage multi-disciplinary teams across electrical, mechanical, controls, and fire/life safety systems
- Act as primary liaison between client representatives, general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and commissioning agents (CxA)
- Identify, track, and resolve commissioning issues, punch lists, and system deficiencies
- Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely, in compliance with design intent, codes, and industry standards
- Manage commissioning deliverables including schedules, budgets, change orders, and final summary reports
- Support energization planning and execution for mission-critical systems under live operating conditions
- Drive adherence to project milestones in fast-paced, schedule-driven hyperscale environments
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience in data centre commissioning, construction, or mission-critical infrastructure delivery
- Proven experience leading commissioning of large-scale facilities (minimum 4MW+ or equivalent hyperscale environments
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including:
-MV/LV power distribution
-UPS systems (static/rotary)
-Generators and fuel systems
-Chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units
-Fire detection and suppression systems
-Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS)
- Experience managing commissioning plans, test scripts, schedules, budgets, and change control processes
- Strong ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and coordinate across contractors, vendors, and clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
