I'm working with a well-capitalized, owner-operator data center business - one of the largest privately held interconnection platforms in the US - who are looking for a Director of Operations to take full ownership of their Indianapolis campus.
This is a genuine step-up opportunity. If you're a Critical Facilities Manager, Chief Engineer, or Senior FM currently running mission-critical sites for a facility management provider and you're ready to move client-side into a Director seat with real autonomy, this is exactly that move.
What you'll be doing:
- Full operational ownership of a multi-building, carrier-dense data center campus
- Leading site engineering and operations teams across critical power, cooling, and life safety systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, CRAC/CRAH)
- Owning MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, preventative maintenance programs, and change management
- Managing vendor and subcontractor relationships, budgets, and CapEx/OpEx planning
- Driving uptime, compliance (SOC, PCI, HIPAA environments), and customer satisfaction
- Acting as the senior operational face of the site for enterprise and carrier customers
What they're looking for:
- Strong critical environment background - data centers, or heavy critical facilities via an FM provider (CBRE, JLL, Salute, or similar) or data center developer/operator
- Deep technical understanding of MEP infrastructure in an N+1 environment
- Proven team leadership - engineers, technicians, and third-party vendors
- Comfortable being the most senior person on site and accountable for uptime
- Ready to step up: this suits someone who's been the #2 or run a single critical site and wants full campus ownership
