Mechanical Lead – Data Centre Project
Location: Berkshire, UK
Contract Type: Contract 6-12 months
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the complete mechanical package on a large-scale Data Centre project.
- Coordinate and oversee mechanical subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.
- Manage the installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of mechanical systems.
- Review and monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating risks where required.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and industry standards.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Commissioning Team, Design Team, and Client Representatives.
- Drive quality assurance processes, inspections, and snagging activities.
- Support programme management and ensure key project milestones are achieved.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Lead, Mechanical Manager, or Senior Mechanical Engineer on data centre projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems within mission-critical environments, including HVAC, chilled water, cooling systems, pipework, and associated infrastructure.
- Demonstrable experience managing the full mechanical package on large-scale construction projects.
- Previous hyperscale or colocation Data Centre experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of commissioning, QA/QC processes, and project delivery.
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
