About the Role
The Concept Development team turns vision into buildable reality — working with customers at concept stage to define how their data centres will be powered, cooled, and delivered, faster and at scale. By integrating master planning, offsite manufacturing, cost modelling, BIM, and commissioning strategy from the outset, we remove uncertainty and accelerate delivery.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an Electrical Engineering Lead to develop, design, and govern the electrical platform underpinning our global data centre delivery strategy. As the technical authority for critical power infrastructure, you'll lead the development of standardised electrical architectures, power topologies, and reference designs — covering utility interconnections, substations, MV distribution, standby generation, UPS systems, and busway distribution.
You'll provide technical leadership across concept development, project pursuits, modularisation, commissioning, and platform innovation, ensuring electrical solutions are scalable, resilient, and repeatable.
What You'll Be Doing
- Platform Development: Lead design delivery, workshops, and design reviews; develop standardised electrical architectures and power topologies (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1) for hyperscale, AI, enterprise, and colocation data centres.
- Concept Engineering: Lead electrical input on feasibility studies, customer engagements, and project pursuits; develop load models and capacity forecasts to support master planning and AI workload growth.
- Modularisation & Delivery: Design electrical solutions optimised for prefabrication and industrialised delivery (E-Houses, MV/LV skids, UPS and generator modules), driving DfMA adoption.
- Technical Assurance: Act as the electrical authority for complex engineering challenges, supporting design reviews, root cause investigations, and commissioning/reliability programmes.
- Standards & Innovation: Own electrical design standards and specifications; champion innovation in power distribution, energy storage, HVDC, microgrids, and digitalisation to support rising rack densities and AI infrastructure demands.
What We're Looking For
- SME-level electrical engineering knowledge across HV/MV/LV power supply and distribution, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS/STS, and protection systems
- Experience with control/monitoring systems (EPMS/SCADA/PLC), commissioning, and testing compliance
- 5–10 years' relevant experience, with a higher degree in Electrical or Power Systems Engineering; Chartered status preferred
- Proven track record leading concept engineering, feasibility studies, and customer engagements in hyperscale/AI data centres
- Experience with modularisation, DfMA, and operational readiness
- Proficiency in ETAP/SKM, AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Excel
