Senior Planner – Data Centers
Location: Paris, France
Salary: Up too €95k + Rotation Package
About the Company
Our client is a leading international engineering and construction business specialising in the delivery of complex, mission-critical infrastructure across Europe and globally. With a strong track record within the data center sector, they work with some of the world's largest technology and hyperscale organisations to deliver major projects from pre-construction and design through to construction, commissioning and handover. Due to continued growth across their European portfolio, they are looking to strengthen their planning function with an experienced Senior Planner based in Paris.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to take ownership of planning across a major data center project or portfolio of projects in Paris.
This is a senior position within the planning function, giving the successful candidate responsibility for the full planning lifecycle, programme strategy and schedule governance. You will work closely with project management, construction, commercial teams, clients and subcontractors to ensure programmes remain accurate, achievable and reflective of progress on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the planning function across an assigned project or portfolio, acting as the senior planning authority for all schedule-related matters.
- Develop and maintain detailed programmes covering pre-construction, construction and commissioning using Primavera P6 or equivalent.
- Take ownership of programme architecture, including WBS structures, activity coding, calendars, logic networks and constraints.
- Lead critical path, near-critical path, float and milestone analysis, providing senior management with clear visibility of programme risks.
- Carry out delay, disruption and scenario-based analysis to identify potential impacts and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead and manage Earned Value Management (EVM) systems where required, including CPI, SPI, EAC, ETC and TCPI analysis.
- Monitor schedule performance and productivity, analysing planned versus actual progress and identifying adverse trends.
- Conduct regular site progress audits, validating reported progress against physical completion and ensuring the programme accurately reflects site reality.
- Prepare tender programmes supporting estimating and bid submissions, incorporating construction methodology, procurement strategy, phasing and key milestones.
- Support weekly workface planning and develop 1, 3 and 6-week lookaheads with construction teams and subcontractors.
- Resource and cash-load programmes, producing histograms, cash-flow forecasts and S-curves.
- Review subcontractor programmes and ensure they align with the overall project programme.
- Provide clear programme reporting, dashboards, narratives, milestone trackers, constraint logs and risk summaries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, templates and procedures.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- 5+ years' experience in planning/project controls within large-scale construction, engineering or mission-critical environments.
- Previous data center experience is highly desirable.
- Strong experience across the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through to construction, commissioning and handover.
- Advanced knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Strong understanding of programme logic, construction sequencing, critical path analysis, baseline control, float management and schedule quality.
- Good knowledge of Earned Value Management, schedule variance, milestone tracking, productivity analysis, delay identification and recovery planning.
- Experience producing detailed programme reports, dashboards, lookaheads, progress narratives and risk reporting.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work with clients, contractors, subcontractors and senior project teams.
- A high level of ownership, organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently within a fast-paced project environment.
Why Consider the Opportunity?
- Work on major hyperscale / mission-critical data center projects.
- Join an established international business with a growing European project portfolio.
- Take a senior role within the planning function with significant ownership and visibility.
- Work across the full project lifecycle rather than focusing solely on programme updates.
- Opportunity to work alongside experienced international project and construction teams.
- Strong long-term career progression within a growing organisation.
