We’re currently supporting a leading organisation within the power and electrical engineering sector in the search for an experienced Transformer Design Manager to join their growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong transformer professional who enjoys leading design activities, developing engineering solutions, and working with customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality transformer projects.

🔧 The Opportunity

You’ll take a key leadership role within the transformer engineering function, overseeing design and engineering activities from concept through to delivery.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Leading and managing transformer design engineering activities
• Reviewing and approving transformer designs and calculations
• Providing technical leadership and mentoring to design engineers
• Working closely with manufacturing, project management and commercial teams
• Supporting customer requirements and technical discussions
• Ensuring designs meet relevant industry standards, specifications and performance requirements
• Driving continuous improvement across transformer design processes
• Supporting the development of innovative and cost-effective transformer solutions

About You

We’re looking for someone with significant experience in power transformer design, ideally with a strong background in engineering leadership or management.

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong technical knowledge of power transformer design
• Experience with transformer calculations, specifications and design principles
• Previous experience leading or managing an engineering/design team
• Knowledge of relevant North American standards and customer requirements
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities
• The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
