Location: Across the USA | U.S. Remote

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Arrangement: Onsite / Field-Based

Compensation: $200,000 – $250,000 base + equity

A rapidly growing technology and data center infrastructure company is building the next generation of AI infrastructure at unprecedented scale.


The business is developing large-scale data center capacity across the U.S., with a focus on speed, reliability, and innovative engineering. This is an opportunity to join a commissioning team working on some of the most technically demanding mission-critical infrastructure projects in the market.


The Role

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning & Field Engineer – Electrical to lead the commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure from the utility interface through to the rack.

You will be hands-on throughout Level 2–Level 5 commissioning, working closely with contractors, vendors, engineers, and project teams to ensure electrical systems operate as designed under both normal and failure conditions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Commission electrical distribution systems from the utility interface through to the rack
  • Commission and test MV/HV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, EPMS and associated electrical infrastructure
  • Develop and execute detailed test scripts covering protection systems, transfer schemes and failure scenarios
  • Perform and oversee Level 2–Level 5 commissioning
  • Oversee NETA testing and vendor startups, independently verifying equipment and test results
  • Execute Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and full failure/"pull-the-plug" scenarios
  • Perform megawatt-scale load bank testing
  • Review electrical one-lines, protection studies and coordination curves to identify potential design issues
  • Work directly with vendors and contractors to maintain testing standards and project schedules
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical systems and drive issues through to resolution
  • Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, accurately and in accordance with project requirements


Requirements

  • Proven experience commissioning electrical systems within mission-critical / data center environments
  • Hands-on experience with Level 2–Level 5 commissioning
  • Experience performing integrated systems testing and failure testing
  • Strong understanding of electrical one-line diagrams, protection studies and coordination curves
  • Experience with megawatt-scale load bank testing
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex electrical systems
  • Strong vendor and contractor management skills
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with significant project and schedule pressure
  • Willingness to travel extensively to project sites across the U.S.

  • Switchgear and power distribution
  • PE License
