This leading contractor are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join their expanding team in Portugal, A great opportunity to work for a market leading contractor with a fantastic reputation in the market who are experts in the delivery of mission critical projects.


As an Electrical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the full electrical scope of works, leading the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of complex projects from installation through to completion. Working closely with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and internal teams, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all electrical construction and installation activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Manage electrical design interfaces and technical coordination with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with programme milestones, budgets, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders through clear communication and proactive engagement.
  • Drive productivity and project performance through effective daily and weekly planning.
  • Promote and maintain exceptional Health, Safety, and Quality standards across all project activities.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimise delays and disruptions.
  • Manage labour, materials, plant, and resources to optimise project efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and support project teams including Engineers, Package Managers, Supervisors, and Foremen.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to ensure safe, efficient, and seamless site operations.
  • Review and approve project documentation, reports, and site records, ensuring issues are tracked and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and present detailed weekly project reports, including:
  • Health & Safety updates and incident reporting
  • Programme status and planned versus actual progress
  • 12-week look-ahead schedules
  • Procurement and long-lead item forecasts
  • Commercial variations and change management logs
  • Risk assessments and project delay notifications
  • Industrial relations updates
  • Chair weekly project coordination meetings with key stakeholders, including Safety, QA/QC, BIM, Engineering, and Construction teams.
  • Ensure all actions arising from meetings are recorded, assigned, and successfully closed out.


Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience managing large-scale electrical projects within sectors such as Industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, or data centers.
  • Data center experience is highly desirable.
  • Trade background and/or qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience successfully delivering major electrical packages or contracts on complex construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methodologies, project sequencing, and commissioning processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, budgets, resources, and subcontractors within fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing project reporting, forecasting, and change control processes.
