Junior BMS Engineer
Location: North West London
Salary: Up to £45,000 + Additional Benefits
We are looking for a skilled and motivated BMS Electrician to join a growing Building Management System (BMS) integration company, working on a variety of commercial building projects across London and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an electrician with experience in commercial electrical installation, control panel wiring, HVAC controls or building services who is looking to develop their career within the BMS and building automation industry.
You will work alongside BMS engineers, commissioning engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality installations across commercial offices, data centers, healthcare facilities and other building environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate and connect BMS control wiring, field devices and associated electrical equipment.
- Carry out containment installation, including cable tray, trunking, conduit and cable management.
- Install and wire sensors, actuators, control valves, dampers, thermostats and other HVAC control devices.
- Assist with the installation and wiring of BMS control panels, outstations and plant control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and installation plans.
- Work closely with BMS engineers and commissioning teams to ensure installations are completed correctly and efficiently.
- Support fault-finding activities and resolve wiring and installation issues.
- Carry out electrical testing, inspections and quality checks in line with project requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant electrical regulations, health and safety standards and site procedures.
- Maintain accurate installation records and communicate progress with site supervisors and project managers.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Electrician or a strong electrical installation background.
- Experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
- Good understanding of electrical wiring, containment, cable termination and control circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Strong awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across London and the surrounding areas.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience working with BMS, BEMS or HVAC control systems.
- Experience installing control panels, sensors, actuators and field devices.
- Familiarity with BMS manufacturers and platforms such as Trend, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell or Tridium Niagara.
- Knowledge of HVAC plant, including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, boilers and chillers.
- Relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, AM2, ECS/JIB card or equivalent.
- ECS, CSCS or other relevant site access qualifications.
