Senior Electrical Operations Engineer – Data Center

About the Role
We are working with a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company building and operating large-scale, mission-critical data center facilities across the US.
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Operations Engineer to take ownership of the electrical infrastructure supporting a live, high-density computing environment.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced electrical professional who is comfortable working with medium/high-voltage systems, critical power infrastructure, switching operations and incident response.
What You'll Do
- Operate and troubleshoot 480V through 15kV+ electrical distribution systems, including MV switchgear, generators, UPS and associated controls.
- Execute switching, LOTO and energization procedures in accordance with NFPA 70E and established safety standards.
- Respond to electrical incidents, troubleshoot faults, restore systems and support root-cause investigations.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, MOPs and EOPs for critical electrical systems.
- Monitor and respond to alarms through BMS/EPMS platforms.
- Support electrical operations while construction and commissioning activities are taking place alongside live infrastructure.
- Support commissioning, turnover and operational readiness of new electrical infrastructure.
- Train and mentor junior electrical operators and help establish operating standards.
- Participate in shift-based and on-call operations when required.
What We're Looking For
- Significant hands-on experience operating electrical distribution systems from 480V through medium/high voltage.
- Experience within hyperscale, colocation or other large mission-critical/data center environments.
- Strong knowledge of MV switchgear, generators, UPS systems and critical power distribution.
- Experience with switching, LOTO, energization and electrical safety procedures.
- Strong understanding of NFPA 70E and arc-flash safety.
- Experience responding to electrical failures, troubleshooting systems and restoring critical power.
- Experience creating or working extensively with SOPs, MOPs and EOPs.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to mentor and develop less experienced electrical operators.
Preferred Qualifications
- NETA certification
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license
- Electrical commissioning experience
- Experience supporting greenfield data center builds
- Experience with BMS/EPMS systems
- Experience operating in facilities where construction, commissioning and live operations overlap
